DONG Energy and GreenWave Reality to Collaborate on In-Home Energy Study
The E-Flex project is designed to assess potential impact of customers’ flexible usage of electric vehicles and heat pumps.
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – (31 March 2011) – The Danish company DONG Energy, one of the leading energy groups in Northern Europe, launches the E-Flex project in Denmark. GreenWave Reality, a global innovator in home energy management solutions, is a cooperating partner.
The E-Flex project is demand-response oriented and designed to evaluate the readiness and motivation of household customers to use energy in a flexible manner. 155 qualified households have been identified for participation in the project. Every household will be provided with GreenWave Reality’s home energy management solution which enables the residents to monitor and control the energy consumption and individually notice and register the impact and effects which their changes in behavior can cause in the electricity distribution system and on the environment.
In order to optimize the load of the distribution system, DONG Energy will be able to control the charging of electrical vehicles and the use of heat pumps within certain limits set by the household customer. The overall objective of the project is to map the potential for flexible consumption in households and especially in homes with electrical vehicles and heat pumps.
The GreenWave Reality solution is an obvious possibility for utilities to gain a more comprehensive understanding of energy consumption in an affordable and secure way by applying an easy-to-use system.
